Starting Salary: 1,326.98 bi:weekly. (In accordance with current spending restriction, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5 of the employees current rate, whichever is higher.)

This commitment manager position is critical due to the necessity to secure the commitment and placement of all youth from the North Region. Commitment managers must conduct multi:disciplinary staffings and assessments; make timely recommendations to the courts, plan for and place youth in residential facilities statewide and for those not yet able to be placed, daily manage the waitlists and perform data entry on each youth. They work collaboratively with the Courts, State Attorneys, Public Defenders, and Probation Services.

This position handles commitment/transfer staffings for Circuit 4 and 8 (Clay, Backer, Bradford, Alachua, Gilchrist and Levy Counties). Also this position serves as the backup to the Commitment Chief, and to the other commitment managers in Circuit 4 (Duval and Nassau Counties).

This position will conduct multi:disciplinary case conferences and placement planning for youth recommended for commitment to the department.

This position requires non:traditional hours, including weekend and evening hours when needed.

This position is a commitment manager; however, it will have some program monitoring duties.

A bachelors degree from a college or university and two years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.

A masters degree from a college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year:for:year basis for the required college education.

Valid Florida Drivers License Is Required.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

experience as a Juvenile Probation Officer.

experience working with the DJJ incident reporting system (Central Communications Center).

experience conducting investigations, administrative reviews and program monitoring.

knowledge of policies and procedures of Commitment Management.

If initially hired with an out:of:state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state drivers license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating
