Robert Half Technology has an exciting opportunity with a Hi Tech Engineering company for a Database Administrator who is proficient at and enjoys solving problems involving multiple layers of complexity. This position would be a great fit for an efficient problem solver with fine-tuned decision-making skills. This long term temporary-to-fulltime opportunity for a Database Administrator is in Jacksonville, Florida. Third party candidates will not be considered for this role. What you get to do every day - Restore databases as service outages occur - Figure out the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes - Ensure the design and execution of database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA objectives - Monitor for deviation in baseline system performance, and advise on and execute improvements to slow running queries - Configure database monitoring utilities to avoid false alarms - Manage all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installation, configuration, and maintenance - Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues Job Requirements - Understanding of production environments and being on-call - Relevant background in building and maintaining documentation - Good understanding of relational database management systems - Prior experience adjusting queries to enhance performance - Working knowledge of storage and server hardware required - 2+ years of database experience - OBIEE (Oracle business intelligence enterprise edition) experience - Solid understanding of Oracle DBA version 11g or 12c - Oracle PL/SQL experience preferred - provided by DiceBusiness Intelligence, Database, DBA, Development, Hardware, Management, Oracle, Oracle DBA, PL/SQL, SQL
